The Life Jacket Challenge

Boaters seldom have the time or ability to don life jackets once an accident occurs. Life jackets have little chance of saving lives unless they are worn (already on!) at the time of the accident.

We set up an experiment under controlled circumstances (with safety divers in the water) for four people to jump in the water in a simulated emergency. Editor at large, Randy Vance, throws them a life jacket to show just how difficult and long it takes to put on a life jacket when an accident occurs. This is The Life Jacket Challenge.
